Foundation For Success, On The Other Side Of 25

My passion is to inspire young people to find their passion and unlock their potential.

Foundation For Success is 365 days of Thoughts, Words and Inspiration discovered through my own life and those around me, real and virtually.

My Brand Is Passion, My Passion Is People.

Let's enjoy a few cocktails & conversation while we break it down.

My inspiration comes from people like you. It's in the conversation, purposeful or completely by accident.

Whether through a shared experience; good or bad; a business deal with a colleague, client or service provider ... plumber, attorney, gardener or home inspector; a new friend, or one you share a past; a person you discovered on Instagram, a cab driver, or waiter, a neighbor, a stranger, or your significant other. And the cocktail might be tea or wine, something stronger or just water. It's all about the conversation and Peeling Back The Onion.

Dive in with me. On The Other Side Of 25, a visual journey. I am a visual person as you might already have guessed. Obsessed with taking and looking at photographs. I can never get enough. And the inspiration I receive from those images is pure magic.

I learn visually and I express myself visually.

I am not being prejudice nor am I passing judgment, when I use certain words to describe a person, place or thing. I am simply trying to visually portray my experience in the best possible way.

I hope you will enjoy it, perhaps laugh or cry, learn and/or feel. It’s always been a passion of mine, to meet new people and learn their story, I look forward to hearing yours.

Identifying Your Passion.

Sometimes, easier said than done, believe you, me, I know from experience. (Age 25 was the most difficult time in my life, I was devoid of passion and fearful I would never find it.)

Story, Scene 1

Driving up Laurel Canyon my new friend and I sipping our cocktail of the afternoon ... water. Running errands and making our way to multiple events on a busy LA Saturday afternoon. On our drive, in his new BMW, top down, warm day, adrenaline rushing as we raced to get it all done, trying as I always do to fit a circle into a square.

So I ask Bennett what he is passionate about, what is his passion. His response surprised and saddened me. "I don't have one." He said. It did not occur to me until later, as is typical with me, when I lay in bed, recalling the conversations of the day, and messages that came my way. When I was 25 it really bothered me that I didn't have a passion or know what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I was living in LA and pretty lost and alone all though I was engaged to be married. But something just did not seem right. I felt off. And this is the reason for the name, -- Foundation For Success - On The Other Side of 25. I told Bennett, when I was younger, I too did not know what my passion was. It hadn't materialized yet... which is so hard to imagine now, so many years later. As today, I am passionate about so many things. So many that I create multiple Instagram accounts and pages on my Debbi DiMaggio website just to keep a track of myself and what I am doing. We got to talking. I shared what I thought, was his passion, being an extremely fit young man. Working out. A fitness buff, I assumed. But no. Working out to Bennett is just who he is and what makes him feel good and has simply just been a part of his life. No fireworks. It doesn't excite him nor light a fire within him. (That's my personal worst nightmare, to feel nothing, blank, devoid.) If I'm not feeling, be it happy or sad, feeling balanced, even, or complacent makes me super sad. There is no greater joy then to feel.)

We definitely racked up some miles. By the end of our drive from LAX to Beverly Hills, the Valley, back to Beverly Hills, down to Palos Verdes and back again. He figured it out. I recall exactly where we were at time he verbalized his aha moment. (Idling at a stop sign in Torrance on the way to real estate preview party of a $48,000,000 estate.) His passion like mine, people. We discussed ways in which he could develop and monetize his passion. How he could help people, connect and work with people.

Note To Self: Oftentimes we do not know what is inside of us. Like a watched pot waiting to boil. However, when the time is right, it will reveal itself. Be patient, open yourself up to discussions and conversations, read books or what others share online. I've found Instagram to be an amazing source of inspiration. But conversations with others are also an excellent conduit to discovering and unlocking what is inside.

Find your passion and make it happen.

Photographs take me back. They don’t only document a place and time but also how I was feeling. A photograph is an incredible and powerful vehicle and snapshot into one’s life.
